It is preferable to use a ground cloth on which to place the pool when you set it up and it is vital to make sure that you have it on as flat a surface as possible. Otherwise, there is a real danger the pool will collapse under the weight of the water.  Some people have built a sandpit for it to rest in while others have put it on a mat on the patio.
You will also need chemicals to keep the water clear and clean and a pool net and some people have reported problems with the filter pump.  So to get the best out of it, you’ll need to get the right testing dips and chemicals to keep it fresh and clean.
However, the pool is really easy to set up and it is recommended the cover is used when the pool is not in use.   When filling the pool, you may need to keep kicking the sides of the pool out to ensure that the pool fills evenly and properly.

There can be a problem with the sides of the pool getting punctured as it is made of plastic and this problem is often noted when the pool has been used and put away and taken out again. Others have said though that their dogs have clambered up onto it and not caused any damage.
